Resurrected Lives Multiply
Series:
Summary
Multiply – Resurrected Life
Text: Acts 5 & 6
Main Idea:
A reliance on the Holy Spirit, faithful prayer and preaching, and a decentralization of care resulted in multiplication.
I. We Multiply Through the Power of the Holy Spirit
Text: Acts 5:14–16
-
The Apostles were conduits for the Spirit’s power—people came from everywhere to be healed.
-
The Holy Spirit empowered them not just for healing but for witness (Acts 1:6–8).
-
We receive the Spirit by repenting and believing in Jesus (Acts 2:38–39).
-
The principle today: God still does miraculous things through those who surrender to Him.
II. We Multiply Through Faithful Prayer and Preaching
Text: Acts 6:1–4
-
Apostles prioritized their calling: prayer and preaching the Word.
-
Delegated practical tasks to qualified, Spirit-filled leaders.
-
Faithful preaching is vital—God’s Word discerns hearts and equips believers (Heb. 4:12, 2 Tim. 3:16–17).
-
Prayer is powerful and essential (James 5:16–18).
III. We Multiply Through the Decentralization of Care
Text: Acts 6:5–7
-
The Apostles empowered others to lead and serve.
-
Everyone has a role and gift to contribute to the church (Romans 12:4–9).
-
Multiplication happens when everyone participates in the mission.
-
Decentralization allows preachers to focus on Word and prayer while others meet practical needs.
Conclusion: The Lord’s Supper & The Mission
Text: 1 Cor. 11:17–26, Matt. 28:18–20
-
Communion reminds us of our unity in Christ and our mission.
-
We are sent out to make disciples, empowered by the resurrected life and presence of Jesus.
