1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from?
Hi I’m Allie Maiyer, I’m 21 years old, I come from a loving Christian family of 6, and am the oldest of 4 children. I have lived in Mansfield my whole life, and graduated as a Physical Therapist Assistant in May of 2019, from North Central State College. I currently work at Kingston nursing home in Ashland Ohio, in both the therapy and dietary departments.
2. What is your connection to Berean? Involvement in Church/SURGE?
I have been attending Berean’s Wednesday night youth group since I was in 7th grade, and now I consider Berean my church home. I have also been a surge Jr High girls small group leader for the past 3 years.
3. Why this internship?
I chose to accept this college internship position, as ministry has been really heavy on my heart this past year. I want to share the hope I have in Jesus with others, and to me there’s no better way to do that than with the help of a team of people that are all striving for the same goal. The fact that I don’t have to relocate, but this ministry opportunity can be done right here in my hometown is a huge plus.
4. What is your life verse and why? (or a verse that is important to you)
“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”
John 15:4 NIV
This is a verse that has been a huge encouragement to me these past few months. It gives me great peace to know that God is ultimately in control, and aside from Him we can do nothing.
5. Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I have no clue where I’ll be. But I hope to be faithfully serving Jesus in this life that He has blessed me with. Sharing the hope I have everywhere I go, Whether that may be in Physical Therapy, ministry, or even missions, I have no clue. But hey, they say that Jesus takes us on the greatest adventures, and I believe that to be very true.
6. How can the church pray for you?
The church can be praying for me to be focused and intentional in this season of my life. To keep my eyes fixed on eternity, as I strive to be in the world but not of the world. A daily battle, that can not be won aside from the grace of God.
