1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from?
I’m from Bellville, and I am currently a sophomore at Moody Bible Institute. I am studying pastoral ministries, and I hope to serve as a youth pastor when I graduate.
2. What is your connection to Berean? Involvement in Church/SURGE?
My family started to attend Berean when I was in sixth grade, and I have been attending steadily since. I have been on numerous youth missions trips through Berean and have been a part of both the youth and the main worship service for several years now. I have been away at Moody for just a year now, but I am so excited to start serving here again!
3. Why this internship?
I do not even know where to begin. I am so excited for every part of it! Pastor Phil has been promising me an internship with Berean for four years now. I am so excited to work with such a Godly staff, and the other interns are wonderful Christians and great people as well. I love working with students and helping them grow their faith, and I am so excited to also get experience working in the church.
4. What is your life verse and why? (or a verse that is important to you)
John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” This verse is a great reminder of the attitude we as believers need to have in life. He is so much greater than we are, and we need to remember to give God the glory. I especially love the story behind this verse. It was said by John the Baptist, who was a godly man, and he was given the calling to proclaim the coming Messiah. That was no small task. When John’s followers complained that disciples are following Jesus instead of John, this was John’s response. He knew that regardless of his status, Jesus was still more important.
5. Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself as being a youth pastor. I have thought about overseas missions, but for now I believe that God is calling me to a pastoral role, and I hope that it begins with youth. I love helping younger people learn more about such a special relationship with Christ that I already have.
6. How can the church pray for you?
Just continued growth and maturity in Christ
