Berean Women’s Ministry is pleased and excited to welcome Ashley DeFrancisco as the new Women’s Ministry Director. Many of you may already know her from her devoted service to MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) since 2009. With the vision she has for Women’s Ministry, her enthusiasm and leadership will now bring excitement to all women’s activities.
Ashley grew up in Galion and was raised in the Lutheran church. She had a role-model grandmother who sang in the choir, decorated the church, cleaned communion cups and picked up eight children – including Ashley – to take them to church every week.
“I always called myself a Christian,” Ashley said, “but after coming to Berean (MOPS) from a Lutheran background, I realized I needed to make some changes. The other leaders were witnessing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to me. They just showed me so much love. I realized I needed that personal relationship with Jesus, too.”
Ashley has a Master’s Degree in Education, with experience teaching 6th grade and tutoring troubled kids at a group home. She has also worked as a youth leader at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and most recently filled a library grant position.
Ashley and her husband, Jamie, have been married for fifteen years and have three daughters – Lacy (11), Emmy (5), and Libby (2). They love being in the Word at Berean and don’t want to miss church! They all enjoy outdoor activities, including feeding the birds in their yard and going on nature hikes. Ashley also very much enjoys Bible journaling, which is something she would like to introduce to the women at Berean. She has also created deeply-inspiring activities for Prayer Walks, or Journeys.
Please stop by and say hello to Ashley and check out upcoming events in the weeks and months to come!
